CONSTRUCTION SITE MANAGEMENT AND SAFETY CONTROL is designed to educate the students on the construction site management and occupational safety and health (OSH) concept. The course emphasizes on site management particularly principles of site management, site performance, site reporting, monitoring and control, site layout, workers’ welfare, site resources, the accident theories, prevention and investigation, risk management, OSH Management, performance and culture, occupational health such as stress and ergonomics within construction projects. Upon completion, students should be able to apply the effective site management and practice the knowledge Occupational Safety & Health Management and Accident Prevention within construction projects.

FOUNDATION ENGINEERING is the application of soil mechanic’s principles.
Lectures will be emphasized on foundation theories and design that are applicable in
Civil Engineering. Foundation Engineering requires the knowledge of suitable types
of foundation and their criteria for selection including retaining wall, shallow and
deep foundation. The course also discusses solutions to problems in examining poor
ground conditions and proposing alternative technique(s) for ground improvement
and the corresponding monitoring activities.
