DEC50103 OPERATING SYSTEMS

OPERATING SYSTEMS course introduces the fundamentals of operating systems. 

Topics included are inter-process communication, process scheduling, deadlock, 

memory management, virtual memory and file system. Formal principles are 

illustrated with examples and case studies of one or more contemporary operating 

system. The course shall enable students to develop skills to install and configure a 

server using Microsoft Windows network operating system or Open Source network 

operating system
